The Second District Court of Appeals returned to in-person arguments on July 13, 2021.  The court continues to comply with the safety guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ("CDC"), the Ohio Department of Health and the Montgomery County Health Department to maintain a safe environment for our staff and the public that we serve:

Masks: CDC recommends that both vaccinated and unvaccinated people wear face coverings in public indoor settings if they are in an area of substantial or high transmission.  Attorneys or pro se parties arguing before the court of appeals, however, may choose not to wear their face coverings when speaking at the podium in the courtroom.

Social Distancing: the court will schedule one argument per time slot to reduce the number of people gathering in the courtroom and hallways.  The court will accommodate remote arguments if requested.  Other court business will be conducted remotely as needed.

Cleaning: high touch areas of the courtroom will be sanitized between arguments.

Health Monitoring: staff, parties, and the public should monitor themselves for the presence of COVID-19 symptoms before attending any in-person court proceeding and stay home if symptoms are present.  Arguments will be rescheduled as needed.
